Le préfet de la Gironde vient de rendre public le projet de contournement autoroutier de Bordeaux (lien) :
3 des 5 faisceaux retenus viennent, soit couper en deux l'appellation Margaux, soit la ceinturer, en empiétant sur des terroirs de très haute qualité, classés ou proposés au classement en AOC Margaux.
A l'heure où développement touristique et viticole marchent de pair, ce projet vient handicaper lourdement le développement économique de notre région et son équilibre écologique avec des emprises sur les zones humides protégées, indispensables au bon fonctionnement de nos terroirs.
Des terroirs uniques au monde tels ceux de l'appellation Margaux ou des crus célèbres du Haut-Médoc se verront ainsi amputés, dans une atteinte intolérable au patrimoine culturel français dans ce qu'il a de plus emblématique...
Des visiteurs viennent du monde entier par la «route des châteaux» pour rayonner dans le vignoble, les services de l'Etat, visionnaires, ne trouvent pas mieux que de ceinturer ou couper en son milieu ce fleuron mondial de la viticulture.

The Prefect of the Gironde has just publicly announced a plan for the building of a motorway which will bypass Bordeaux.
3 of the 5 routes proposed will either cut the Margaux appellation area in two, or go around it, encroaching on superb quality terroirs, classified as AOC Margaux, or under consideration for the classification.
At a time when the tourist and wine industries are developing in tandem, this plan will seriously handicap the economic growth of our region and its ecological balance.
Terroirs unique to the world such as the Margaux appellation and the famous crus of the Haut-Médoc will thus be carved up in this intolerable assault on some of the most iconic examples of France’s cultural heritage.
Visitors come from all over the world to travel along the “route des chateaux” and visit the wine estates. Can these “visionary” government departments find no better solution than to build a motorway which will encircle or cut in two one of the finest wine producing areas in the world? When will they build a motorway through the gardens of Versailles palace?
